You Know…
I’ve been hearing so much about @TheHungerGames that I decided I’d look them up to see what the fuss was about. I have to say that just by visiting the website I’m not very impressed.
I goto the website, I click on the link to take me to the page that’s -suppose- to tell me about the books, and I have to scroll past Four things before I even reach the standard edition of the first book. It’s like a page of advertising for buying stuff about the book, collectors editions, and guides to the story before you even get to the actual book. Then the first thing on the list is not even the first book by itself, you have to keep scrolling to get to just the first book. What happens when you finally reach just the first book by itself where it actually offers you a chance to read a page of the book? Underneath the first book is an advertisement for the second book, telling you the ending of the first book! So, if you’ve never actually read the books you’ve just got a big spoiler right in your face while trying to access the first. That by itself is enough to make me not want to the read the books. I can’t stand spoilers and knowing whats going to happen. It’s completely obvious that who ever designed this webpage did it more to make money off the books than to ever offer anyone a good book to read. It’s turned me off to the whole series and the movie.
Oh and to top it off? When I opened the .pdf version of the book, there’s a shining recommendation from Stephenie Meyer. Joy.
